New Bad Boy in Town

His name is Kim. Some byproduct of Lai+Loo.

(!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

PS: Lol Lai lol. Edited for Lai's emotional stability. :D

Klang Kut Teh - Journey of the Risen (In 3D!)

It happened on one of those days, when heroes went on a journey to save the world.
I, proud warrior, sniper, KFC Ding
and the talking cat, Menggot went on an adventure.
Normi the driver sadly did not return from his journey in Dreamland.

We set out from city Amorpherajaya, commonly known as Subang Jaya.
With 4 Cars marking our destination, we set out to the distant KTM station.
After a gruesome journey under the hot sun, we arrived!
The KTM took us to a new town called Jawa Field.
Menggot was our 1st lookout.
Our base,
surrounded by forest
and a raging river.

Our local guide came in some donkey caravan he named Nissan, what a weird name.
Secret signal to confirm our identities.
Horn-horn, our guide is well...you can guess, from his name. With BIG anime eyes.
Enemies are right behind.
We escaped with amazing speed,
at 78% the speed of light.
In this town, there was a school full of children with moustache.
Horn-horn told us was from there.
He looks nostalgic, must be missing his moustache-mates. (*tear*)

1st stop, food. Apparently, they eat meat-bone-tea here.
Horn-horn likes food. He happily posed for 3 different picture.
1st
2ndBelieve you me, they're all different photos.
And he still wants more.
Oh ya, there's Celvi the side character.

After boosting ourselves with food and a whole kettle of tea,
we resumed our travels.

We went pass Horn-horn's house. It's urm.."under renovation".
Then we went to get blessings for our journey.
Celvi almost fainted because of the strong spiritual powers.
Menggot eyeing the pillars she can climb.
See?
Or maybe those...?
KFC Ding was saying, err..Up..?? O.o
Horn-horn aint happy, he wants a picture too.
Orange tree in Jawa Field.
It worried me when I saw that Horn-horn's face when he drives.
He drove so fast, it turned autumn while we were passing a tree.

No joke. Autumn.
Our next awaited destination was closed.
We went to buy paus instead. Horny pau and Horn-horn, caught red-handed.
Suddenly, Horn-horn showed his true self.
Sidekick 1. (Sama spec gang)
Menggot joined the dark side.
Sniper was defeated.
I saved the day, what did you expect?
My hard won pau. It was really good, with curry inside.

Hatsukoi, Unlimited!!

There you go.
(Serving Suggestion: Max volume with headphone, enjoy the guitar)

Went to Madam Joyce's Eatery for lunch. Atmosphere at Sunday Joyce was superb. Time in the shop passes way slower than outside. I had a yummy yam cake, curry chicken noodles and hot bean curd-barley. They gave me some home grown pineapples as dessert as well, quite sweet. My biological clock registered 2 hours spent in there, but the minute hand of my watch only went half a circle. Aria no kimochi wooo~

-Visited Lowyat Plaza to retrieve my camera. Took a detour to Borders on the way back. There's only one floor now, sad. Guess they're suffering from letting people read for free. You would guess why there are no private owned public libraries around. *Non-excludability~ Free riders~ Market failure~ *
-Bought "Kieli" from Borders. Been looking for it for more than a year. Expensive, but since no one seems to be scanslating it so.., meh.
-Trip back was horrible. 2 trains got canceled, during peak hour. When the next train came, the jostling actually lifted me off the ground and I "floated" into the train. Packed like Ewee's pencil box, holy, 3 trains worth of passengers. Can't move my arm for 40 mins, and I need not mention the aroma in there.
-Movies with Ding Zai, Jit and Selva. Transformers and Harry Potter. Decent movies. Happy Potter has some good comical scenes, and they actually did manage to put in the important parts.
-Joined the Olympiad Physics workshop. Not helping, I don't think it'll make much a difference for most people who joined as well, hurm. Thermodynamics was interesting though.
-Wasted my week away with all sorts of mini-games, YouTubing and lying around.

woo woooo.

Imitation of Dr. M and Anwar. The guy playing Dr. M is good lol.

Spoils from Borders. XD
Unlimited reading material.
Random pic from my cam.

PS: I lost my umbrella!!!! D: Ugh, I suck. D<

Thoughts from the Toilet.

"If a student starts Form 4 in 2012, he would have studied Maths and Science in English for nine years (six years at primary level and three years at secondary level). Does this mean he has to study Maths and Science for two years in Bahasa (in Forms 4 and 5), and revert to English for the two subjects when he is in Form 6/Matriculation?

Currently the decision stands as it is and students in Form 4 (2012) will learn Maths and Science in Bahasa. However, the Ministry will fine-tune the process to accommodate students in the transitional period." -The Star Online.

I've decided to post my own thoughts regarding this issue because I feel strongly about it. Buzz off if you are some racist, nationalist, or someone who cannot think straight due to external influence.

Amazing, superb. The Ministry have some magic wand where at a wave, student's will be able to study Maths and Science in Bahasa again after nine long years of effort. If that can be done, why not use the "wand" to help students cope with Maths & Science in English?

The education policies in Malaysia has been changed time and again, in response to the politic needs in Malaysia. Tun Mahathir proposed the idea of M&S in English at the end of his political career, leaving his successors to clean up to mess. Truth is, the sudden change in the medium to teach left many new teachers incapacitated. But of course, with many hours of "kursus", we expected the horizon to brighten, didn't we? One of my friends had no teacher for biology for half a year during his form four year, but it's all for the greater good, right?

But oh no, the results are plunging. Short-sighted as ever, the goverment panicked. The medium must be the problem, was the general consensus. No one gave a second thought about the competancy of the new teachers. Allow me to highlight this, during the last years of my secondary education, most of the more experienced teachers were retiring one by one. Coming into the picture were those who not only can hardly speak English, but cannot teach as well. When I say they cannot teach, I don't mean they cannot teach in English, I mean they cannot teach either way. Severely lacking teaching skills, and only half-bucket-water of technical knowledge, they invaded the schools to kill the future of the students. Okay sorry, that was a little heavy, but please understand that, without placing the medium as the scapegoat, our education system is screwed up already. It's just unfortunate that the change of medium coincided with the generation change of teachers. I do not see the experienced teachers struggling when the medium for S&M was changed back to English.

Another amazing thing is that, the government is actually fighting for better English standards. Wow. More English periods, help the rural children. Well, English is important not only because it's the international language, but its also the bloody lingua franca of Maths and Science. The teaching of S&M will only enforce the student's command of the language. But of course, with the Malaysia Boleh optimism, the government are expecting around 3000 prominent scientists from Malaysia to emerge by the next 2 decades, all of them publishing their work in Bahasa. Then Malaysia will be a hub for education, and the world will kneel to the power of Bahasa. Hohoho, very convenient indeed. 2020 accomplished in one sweeping policy, and dear Mr Muhyiddin will "disanjungi" for eternity.

Let's get down to the root of the problem, shall we? The issue has been well discussed, so much so that no one notices it already. The intake of rubbish teachers. Believe you me, I had written a good amount of karangan regarding this issue. From the cerpen "Serunai Malam" in "Anak Laut", the teaching professional "dianggap tiada glamour". Teaching, to the general public, is a cheap government post to just "makan gaji buta" nowadays. The problem got worse due to difficult children and parents alike nowadays as well. It kills the teaching profession. If the goverment are to make new policies, they should be policies aimed to solve this problem. Inexperience can be helped, but lack of motivation cannot. Again, believe it or not, I was very interested in teaching, but the thought of having to teach kids in Bahasa isn't too alluring to me.

To put it simply, problem consists of=10% medium difficulty for students, 10% medium difficulty for teachers and 80% due to noob teachers. (Figures are approximations, I will not be held responsible if this figure somehow causes you harm or aggrieved you in any way). Goverment policy now is aimed at helping the 20% that are facing complications due to language. And of course, the bigger picture, the 80%, is overlooked. The policy WILL help out the 20%, but kill away the future where Malaysia can "berdiri sama tinggi, duduk sama rendah" and "bersaing di persada antarabangsa".

On the other hand, I recognises that the majority of the students having trouble are from the rural areas in Malaysia. The policy might be implented due to concerns that the education gap between rural and urban areas might widen, in addition to the economic gap. A mere college student, I can offer no solution to this problem, but this new policy will be just like the controversial NEP, which only offers a short term solution to a major problem. In exchange of a superficial national harmony, we are sacrificing the growth of the country, and we are actually proud of it.

Please do not get me wrong, I am not in support of any political party, and I love the nation and Mr Najib, but this issue was handled with too little consultation from the public. Please, continue the education of Science and Maths in English, at least at the secondary level, because as Eng Wee aptly put it, Education in English policy will behave like a J-curve, whereas the policy to revert to Bahasa is an inverted J-curve.

This policy reminds me of a saying, available in a few languages, signifying it's importance. "Mahu berak baru cari jamban", "Ai pang sai baru che jamban", and a few others. To put it simply, the education system in Malaysia is now full of "lubang jamban"s, and the addition of another one is well.., just another one.

Disclaimer: Saya berniat baik, jangan tangkap saya tuan. =)

PS: Taylor's should really give each class a air-con remote. Wastage of resources will not a trivial issue by the next few decades.

Capacity space is Multi-dimensional.

Interesting quote, put in a way that drills right into your head, by some smart guy.

-Caught "the" flu. Missed Leader's Club's AGM, jogging with Devva and movie with Ding Zai. Hate this strain, stop mutating for god's sake.
-Self-quarantined, instant noodles+tau sa piah for meals.
-Amazing headache+fever, hurts like when your head cracks and someone poured salt into it...well, something of that sort.
-Project Brainwash-->3%
-Reading "A Short History of Nearly Everything." Good book.
-Hell, lab coat and goggles cost RM55. =/
-Heaven, badminton at 3k is free, save the parking fee which is RM1.
-I don't get anything about Econs. Oh, and Chemistry too.

On a finer note, I feel better now, hurm. You'll need a dinosaur flu or elephant flu or summat to down me heh.

PS: Sorry for my seemingly lack of substantial topics, but you have to excuse me for not remembering anything about the past week. I saw some angels and had some fun, that's why.

Previously Ewee's bro's toilet book.
Now mine. :)

The Air Smells...Nostalgic??

Woke up early this morning, (10.50am). Did some chemistry and worked on my PS. Met Boon Peng when I went out for lunch, he informed me of the horrors of AS chemistry practical exam. Wonderful. Badminton with Huey at 3k, only the 2 of us in the hall for most of the time, and we played for free hohoho.

Currently reading "the curious incident of the dog in the night-time", interesting book. The main character is a super logical kid, autistic, and self narrates the whole book while he tries to solve a case of a murdered dog.

There was a gale when I when out for dinner. Wait...no, I mean after I stepped pass Secret Recipe, a gale hit me like a fluffy pillow. Wonderful feeling, I felt like I could fly. Dinner at Pin Kee alone (Ding went for movies with Wai Yip gang), had something like shark-fin soup with rice. Did not get to taste it, I burnt my tongue with the first bite...hurm. Strolled back to hostel, enjoying the cool breeze enveloping me, very very rare luxury you get in Subang Jaya. Reminded me of when I was young. I lived on the 4th floor of an apartment. I would often go out to the balcony on windy days about 1-2am to enjoy the breeze and scenery, of the heavens and earth.

Updates:
-Finally, I got approved to take AS level Chemistry. Through a thick bush of bureaucracy and spirited protesters, I emerged victorious. (Will cost me around RM1.5k for fees though -_-", can't afford anything other than an "A")
-Reality sets in. I have to study 12 extra hours of Chemistry per week and keep my head above the water for other subjects as well, especially..ehem..Econs. Wonderful prospect for sem 2, considering I have start on my university applications as well, hurm.
-Started the semester, met my new teacher, love Ms Esther. Her lesson was a fun ride, boring factor 0%.

Some photos from Penang trip:

Ding Zai's baby grand.
(He loves to take diagonal photos.)
Joey's neighbour's house.
Car was Norman's though.
This is youth.

Joey's house. It's a bunker from WWII.
Penang asam laksa. Amazing shit.
And finally, Lai let out his very manly scream because
A) The Asam Laksa was too spicy.
B) Norman was driving too fast.
C) He won a mahjong game.
D) He was actually singing.

PS: No la that wasn't Joey's house, though he hides in there when he is emo, which is like every day. Answer for the "Curious incident of Lai's Ear-Piercing Shriek" will be in next issue. Till next time~~

Oya, zomok zomok!! somok somok!! Kuma, nya. XD
