Semester 2 - GO!

End of sem break woohoo. Been some time since I last posted, I think.

Updates:
-Completed 70% of my holiday plans.
-Got a new pair of specs, thanks Elaine for breaking them.
-Badminton and mamak-ed in Melaka. Glad to see some old faces. Long time no see, Chia Han & Kwang Yang. Too bad we can't badminton more, I really wanted to watch transformers at DP too, the cinema there pawns Subang's lol. Time constrains, time constrains~
-Not-so-nice timetable for semester 2. Friday ends at 2pm, wth. Changed 3 teachers, hopefully all for the better. Mrs Ray... *sob*
-Student helper for June intake orientation. Mr Lai broke his promise again, mana leng luis aku? And more budget for pizza la, some of them didn't get to eat anything leh. Selva ate everything.

To commemorate the starting of semester 2, the hectic part of A-levels..., "BAN-KAI!!!"

New specs. Old one broke. R.I.P.
Random photo of emo Ding Zai when he cant get his KFC.

PS: I love MJ's songs.

Char Kuay Teow

Back from food trip. /gg

Journeyed to Ipoh last saturday with Ding and his family. We stopped by The Ship Damansara for a luxurious dinner. It was my second visit, and the food tasted as good as was the first time. Oxtail soup and sizzling steak, can't get enough of them hahaha. Reached Ding's house at around 10 I think, his dogs love me hurm..

Went to old town of Ipoh the next morning. Apparently old town and new town are cessated by the river, and there's no school in old town. The buildings there resemble those from Melaka, from colonial times. Ate breakfast in a kopitiam there. First time I ever tasted curry chee cheong fun. Tried some other food there as well, pretty good. Lepak-ed with Ding Zai and Bryan at Ipoh Parade and watched "Night at the Muzeum". Fun watch. Had Ding start practising "Marriage D' Amor" and "Ballade Pour Adeline" by Richard Clayderman. Oh yea, he has a baby grand piano, cool sound quality. Dinner was at a restaurant with good food near Ding's place. (Note: There are quite a few good restaurrant near his house lol) The cabbage there ada cukup cukup "huo wei". Really really nice, never tasted something quite like that before. Watched "Hitch" by Will Smith with Ding Zai till 2 am. Interesting film, liked it. By the way, Ding's dad have this really huge collection of movies. A WHOLE cabinet of them.

Hakka mee and toasted bread as breakfast. Hakka mee there was like Madam Joyce's dumpling noodle, without the dumplings. Ding's mum ordered special gao coffee that she usually drinks for me. Loved the taste. In the afternoon I teman-ed Ding and his mum to fetch his siblings. Visited Ding Zai's ex-school, Sam Tet. Nothing abnormal, big field, saw some form 4 and 5s hitting on form 6 girls. (Sam Tet is an all boys school, but form 6 is coed, something like SFI) Went to Jusco right after that, well Ipoh only have 2 malls. No movies to watch, so our plan was dashed. Bought some books at MPH and had tea in some cafe. Laksa there was wonderful. Played ping pong for the rest of the day with Ding and Bryan. Had dinner in another close-to-Ding's-house restaurant. Amazing food, with a cheap price. Asam steamed fish there cost RM18.. O.o Ding's parents joined us to watch "Constantine" by Keanu Reeve. Pelik movie, can't hear their dialogue.

Woke up to Normy playing "You are Beautiful" in the morning. Ding's mum brought us to under-the-tree hawker stall where we had curry chee cheong fun. In my opinion, the one in old town was better, but the coffee there..saikou!! Lunch was Bak Kut Teh. After that we went to Ipoh Parade again. Watched "Night at the Muzeum" again. Same seat again. Seriously -_-"... Tea was Char Kuay Teow and coffee. Cendol after that. Sparred ping pong with Normy till evening lol. Then it was mahjong. For dinner, all of us went to this place called "15 floor" for chicken hor fun. RM1 per bowl, quote Ding's dad: "One bowl have 3 mouthful of hor fun and just enough soup to submerge the hor fun" lol. Had 2 bowls of those, everyone finished their soup hohoho. Ice beer was next. Had half a cup of iced Heineken, very cooling. Back to Ding's place, back to mahjong =.=.

Next phase was Penang. Best things that happened in Penang:
-17 again. (LOL-ed)
-Asam laksa.
-Oh, and Joey's neighbour's house.

Malas want to type all, go read Ding Zai's blog.

Of Digital Cameras and Lowyat Plaza

Went to Lowyat Plaza on Saturday, 10am with Ding Zai. It was lucky all the way, we didn't kena any bird droppings (Ding had a close call though). When we asked for directions to Lowyat, it happens that the guy was heading there too, so he guided us all the way.

After a confusing search, I got my camera, an Olympus fe-370 for RM500+. A decent price I think.
Complains:
-The salesperson persuaded me to buy a silicon cover for the screen. Costed me RM20, but the guy failed to put the cover on properly, so he went ahead and cut it and now it looks cacat-ed.
-It came without a strap. I think the guy took it out and forgot to put it back in the box. Also, the covers feels too small and smells like ikan bilis.
-The recharger's plug is some sort of weird head, now I need an adapter hohoho.

Despite all the lol-drama-maybe-not mentioned, I think it was a good buy. I needed it anyways. That is all, kthxbai.

Maiden photo of my cam.
Box.

PS: These photos are huge. 6+MB for just 2 photos, a real pain to upload lol.

PSS: I look like Omaeda now... -_-''

Chocolate Indulgence

Yeah, I'm getting that later to celebrate the end of semester 1 for A-Levels woot.

Chatted with Ms Jeanetta and Mrs Hew. Taking up extra Chemistry next semester to bolster my Cambridge application. Will be taking lab classes with July 09 intake. Well, there are issues about practical lab examination and fees and all, but hopefully they would approve of my proposal.

Holiday plans:
1) Get my PS done ASAP and get application on track.
2) Finish Maths, Further Maths and everything else's past year papers.
3) Lowyat trip to get myself a decent camera.
4) Ipoh-Penang food trip.
5) Study up Chemistry.
6) Collect my Mokona from Elaine.
7) Relaxing woohooo~

Updates for the week going reverse chronology.

1) Sem exams ended woo. Did okay for Mechanics I think. Question 6, anyone knows how to do please tell me. Went to Summit with almost the whole class to watch "Blood: The Last Vampire". Don't want to talk about it, ask Ding.

2) Late for about 30 mins for Maths exam. Hopefully I did okay.. 2 IPHONES were confiscated during the exam, and both from PE1. We rock yeah. Went for supper at mamak with Ding, saw about 300 rats and cockroaches scuttling around the road.

3) Thinking Skills exam was lol-I-dunno-how-well-I-did.

4) Economics was, quote Yu Li: "no standard".

5) Did not achieve my best in Pure Maths. Well, it's the 1st exam, biasalah. Physics was like what Mr Chan said: "Tricky and not enough time". I think I did okay though.

6) Studied Math with Yu Li. She killed my confidence in Stats. Well, we're supposed to study together, but in the end it became her teaching me for most of the questions. We chatted about Mrs Rayvathy, and got to know a lot more about Mrs Ray. Sally was right, she has some obsession with her ray ray. Once she starts on Mrs Ray, there's no stopping her lol.

Random photos taken during the week:

Nice sunset.
Another angle.
I can't get enough of it.

"This is elementary, my dear Watson."

As usual, post title is totally random.
-Narrowed potential colleges down to Trinity Hall, Fitzwilliam, Christ, Cauis, Homerton, Girton, Robinson, Selwyn. Still a lot of them, and more research is called for. Taking natural science, specialising on Astrophysics. As always, anyone with tips, kindly share them with me, thanks.
-Contemplating whether to take of Chemistry for next semester, and if so, whether or not to drop Economics.
-Out to prove time is proportional to entropy.
-2 days to semester 1 exams, feeling oddly calm. Serenity is almost certainly not proportional to amount studied.
-Met my Physics tutee, Ching Yee. She was pretty adept, good thing.
-Studying Maths with Yu Li tomorrow. Good opportunity for me to remove the dusts covering my maths textbooks.
-Got Ding hooked to K-On! (Note to Ping: I just have a thing for the slice of life genre, that's all.)
-Learning to play Aozora and Chiisana Te no Hira, both by Lia. Tabs are provided by the guy in the videos below.

*buzz* To everyone reading, you are either voltage or current. Semester examination is exactly 2 days away, study hard and good luck. This is Zie Chen. *buzz*

Atarashi no Deai~

CLIOD-Means "college life in one day". I was involved as Taylor's ambassador. It's something like advertising for Taylor's zzz. There were like 50+ secondary school students who came. Reached college on time and "sesat"ed with Selva for half an hour. Bad case of gastric made me retire for the 1st hour. *sad* But thanks to Ewee's KitKat, the gastric subsided by the time i returned to LT1. There, the little kids performed some "pelik" activities like taking off personal belongings and lining them up in a line to make a longest line. Or like acting out a scene in LOTR.

My group consists of 6 ambassadors (Nicholas, Wilson, Andrew, Ee Leng, *can't remember sorry* and me) and 11 minions. Brought them around campus, library and The Web. Being a tour guide feels fun hohohoo. Did Biology, Chemistry and Physics experiments in 1.5 hour, kudos to those who finished it with accurate results. For Bio, Visking tubing thingy, iodine goes in and made the thing blue-black. Chemistry..., titration of something with something else. Shake the mixture, it becomes clear and you are done. Physics, connect a circuit and prove that a light bulb is not an ohmic conductor. Found out from Ee Leng that semester 1 Chemistry is not really very tough. (Might want to switch to Chemistry next sem) Also found out she's quite friendly and easy to talk to. Maybe a book can be judged from it's cover after all huh? Well, some books I guess.

Lunch at cafeteria. Wished that Taylor's could supply food like this everyday lol. It was a mini buffet, food quality was good. After that was Economics, Thinking Skills and Numbers (wonder what it was, Selva and I wasn't there then). ExploreRace after that, kononnya ExploreRace. Just a bunch of students running around asking for information about Taylor's. Though it rained right when it started, and spiced things up a little. Chilled out a while with the ambassadors from PE4 (Pei Wen, Yu Li, Ee Leng and Xin Leng) in MPH. It was too cold in there, so we went out and talked about future careers with Angela from PL2. Now I know only 6 people in the whole A-Levels are taking Literature. Some random photos I took after the ExploreRace:

Mr Something cracking his jokes.
Small part of the horde.

The thing was pretty fun, and I got to know a few more people. Sacrificed almost a whole day of class, but it was worthwhile for me. Oh and I feel sorry for those poor people who did the ExploreRace in the rain and getting freezed in MPH right after. Hope you guys won't catch a flu right at the beginning of your holidays lol. Peace. =p
