Char Kuay Teow

Back from food trip. /gg

Journeyed to Ipoh last saturday with Ding and his family. We stopped by The Ship Damansara for a luxurious dinner. It was my second visit, and the food tasted as good as was the first time. Oxtail soup and sizzling steak, can't get enough of them hahaha. Reached Ding's house at around 10 I think, his dogs love me hurm..

Went to old town of Ipoh the next morning. Apparently old town and new town are cessated by the river, and there's no school in old town. The buildings there resemble those from Melaka, from colonial times. Ate breakfast in a kopitiam there. First time I ever tasted curry chee cheong fun. Tried some other food there as well, pretty good. Lepak-ed with Ding Zai and Bryan at Ipoh Parade and watched "Night at the Muzeum". Fun watch. Had Ding start practising "Marriage D' Amor" and "Ballade Pour Adeline" by Richard Clayderman. Oh yea, he has a baby grand piano, cool sound quality. Dinner was at a restaurant with good food near Ding's place. (Note: There are quite a few good restaurrant near his house lol) The cabbage there ada cukup cukup "huo wei". Really really nice, never tasted something quite like that before. Watched "Hitch" by Will Smith with Ding Zai till 2 am. Interesting film, liked it. By the way, Ding's dad have this really huge collection of movies. A WHOLE cabinet of them.

Hakka mee and toasted bread as breakfast. Hakka mee there was like Madam Joyce's dumpling noodle, without the dumplings. Ding's mum ordered special gao coffee that she usually drinks for me. Loved the taste. In the afternoon I teman-ed Ding and his mum to fetch his siblings. Visited Ding Zai's ex-school, Sam Tet. Nothing abnormal, big field, saw some form 4 and 5s hitting on form 6 girls. (Sam Tet is an all boys school, but form 6 is coed, something like SFI) Went to Jusco right after that, well Ipoh only have 2 malls. No movies to watch, so our plan was dashed. Bought some books at MPH and had tea in some cafe. Laksa there was wonderful. Played ping pong for the rest of the day with Ding and Bryan. Had dinner in another close-to-Ding's-house restaurant. Amazing food, with a cheap price. Asam steamed fish there cost RM18.. O.o Ding's parents joined us to watch "Constantine" by Keanu Reeve. Pelik movie, can't hear their dialogue.

Woke up to Normy playing "You are Beautiful" in the morning. Ding's mum brought us to under-the-tree hawker stall where we had curry chee cheong fun. In my opinion, the one in old town was better, but the coffee there..saikou!! Lunch was Bak Kut Teh. After that we went to Ipoh Parade again. Watched "Night at the Muzeum" again. Same seat again. Seriously -_-"... Tea was Char Kuay Teow and coffee. Cendol after that. Sparred ping pong with Normy till evening lol. Then it was mahjong. For dinner, all of us went to this place called "15 floor" for chicken hor fun. RM1 per bowl, quote Ding's dad: "One bowl have 3 mouthful of hor fun and just enough soup to submerge the hor fun" lol. Had 2 bowls of those, everyone finished their soup hohoho. Ice beer was next. Had half a cup of iced Heineken, very cooling. Back to Ding's place, back to mahjong =.=.

Next phase was Penang. Best things that happened in Penang:
-17 again. (LOL-ed)
-Asam laksa.
-Oh, and Joey's neighbour's house.

Malas want to type all, go read Ding Zai's blog.
